His Excellency the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud ‘Siilaanyo’ and the delegation he led on a state visit to the United Arab Emirates met, today, with the UAE Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the UAE minister for the presidency Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan.
The ROS Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Mohamed Behi Yonis, summing up the meeting said that the two sides conferred on matters of mutual importance to the two countries, foremost among which were the ongoing and upcoming development programs the UAE sponsors in Somaliland.
“The programs we talked about included education, water, infrastructure, and training programs that the Emirates either supports at present or is about to do son in the immediate future,” the Minister said.
Accompanying President Siilaanyo on this stately visit are, besides the First Lady, Amina Mohamoud Jirde, the ROS Ministers for Presidency, Foreign Affairs and Interior, their Excellencies Hersi Ali Haj Hassan, Mohamed Behi Yonis and Ali Mohamed Waran’adde.
H.E. The Minister for Foreign Affairs details the meeting the President had with the Crown Prince, providing additional information on other meetings the FM had with the AfDB and other African Leaders at the WEF summit.
