The Chief Commander of the National Police Force Major General Mohamed Adan Saqadi jetted back into the country on Thursday following a short stint of trip abroad.
Upon arrival he was received at Egal International Airport by both his deputy chiefs and the sectional commanders. He arrived in the background of false claims and allegations doing rounds in the social media to the effect that the police chief had resigned.
The Police Headquarters on Wednesday dispelled the rumours in a press release.
The statement from the Police Headquarters on termed the claims that were peddled in the past few days in the social media as false news. They said that their boss was out of the country and was expected to come back to the country on Thursday morning.
“The Somaliland Police Command denies the false news spread on social media which claims that the Chief Police Commander Major General Mohamed Adan Saqadi has resigned.
“The Chief of Police of the Republic of Somaliland is out of the country on personal matters, and he will be back tomorrow morning, God willing”, said the statement.
