“Somaliland and the United Kingdom share age-old,  historical ties that is built on trust, mutual respect and multi-pronged relations and cooperation,” President Siilaanyo said.

The President warmly landmarked the reception PM May’s Predecessor, David Cameron, made for a delegation he led at 10 Downing Street on April 18, 2013 as a notch-up on the two countries’ cordial relations, hoping that the new Prime Minister would take it forward from there.

The President expressed his hope that the UK would specifically continue and step up mutual programs aiming to develop the national economy, security and political/democratic processes that the two sides are presently running together.

Theresa May took over the UK Premiership Wenesday following the resignation of David Cameron after Britain voted an exit from the European Union which he opposed as PM and Tory Leader.
