Somaliland: Hargeisa Court Begin Deliberating Case of Tribal Elders Involved in Sabowanag Raid

The regional court of Hargeisa is to start listening to a case whereby tribal elders, freedom fighters a and  some youth are accused of raiding Sabowanag voters registration centre in Awdal region,while armed with assault rifles and other crude arm, ransacking, terrorizing the registration staff and seizing Somaliland National Electoral Commission (SNEC) voters registration equipment.

A reliable source informed the Horn Newspaper that investigations and other formalities are compete so the court will move to  Mandera district during the duration of mention the case. The accused  persons are incarcerated at the Mandera High Security Prison.

The Hargeisa court ordered the prosecution to quickly bring the accused  before the regional  court so that the mention of their case could begin earnestly.

These people are accused of raiding a voters registration point at the centre of a tussle between Awdal and Marodojeeh region. Many people are expected to attend the highly political case, while others will be closely watching in the sidelines to see how justice will be dispensed.
