Somaliland: Ethiopia upgrades SL Consular status, says Amb. Galaal

The Somaliland diplomatic office in Ethiopia has had its status elevated from the liaison one by the host country hence treated now as a full consulate, says the SL ambassador based in Addis Ababa.

Amb. Mohamud Jama Aden aka Galaal said that the bilateral relations of the two countries have been stepped up hence a new chapter of even closer relations has been realized and un-veiled.

“Our hosts have upgraded our status and deals with us as it does with any other foreign consulate in Ethiopia”, says the ambassador as reported by Dawan which quoted Odweynenews.com.

Amb. Galaal said that the security of the embassy is now vouched for by the host country.

He further stated, “Given that my personal security is now vouched for as that of any other foreign representative testate to the fact that our status has been upgraded”.

The ambassador talked at length on the general chores of the operations of a consular office that they indulge in criss-crossing all aspects associated to bilateral, security and commercial relations to personal welfare and needs of SL citizens who visit the consulate for services and advices.

The SL embassy in neighbouring Ethiopia has shifted to a modern posh office from the former one it occupied.
