Somaliland: Dahabshil Group Donates Cash in Support of East Africa University Buhodle Campus

Buhodle -A well-attended fundraising function in support of East Africa University Buhodle Campus was in Buhodle town,Togdheer region.

The fundraising function brought together elders, intellectual, and politicians, businessmen, and youth group, religious and traditional leaders.

Dr. Abdi Shafi Ahmed Ali, the chancellor East Africa University speaking during the function said, “East Africa University in Buhodle Campus which was officially inaugurated 04/10/2012, after it become apparent that the region was lagging far behind academically compared to all other regions in than all other regions of the country not to mention the ever increasing demand of education. East Africa University Runs 7 Campuses in located in Somaliland and Puntland State of Somalia.

The chancellor East Africa University added, “Much effort is needed to attract financial resources to the University from the Private sector and on top of government support, tuition income, multinational lender and donor support. Dealing with these challenges and developing the department needs more positive support and influence from the local community.

“We call upon local businesses operating in the country to emulate Dahabshill generosity and lend their support by way of moral, financial, material or any worthwhile act.

“The efforts of Dahabshill or other companies that are driven towards alleviating poverty, boosting infrastructure, beatification, educational, health or other social development are of course noted”, he stated.

Dahabshill  has in the past funded many of the leading high learning institutions in the country as well as sponsoring many underprivileged students education which is part of fulfilling its cooperate responsibility.
