Somaliland: President Honours Cardiff Council

Date:

The President H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud Silanyo has bestowed upon the Mayor and the Council of Cardiff, Wales, UK a certificate of honour acknowledging the Town Hall’s efforts in endorsing a motion on SL’s recognition to be forwarded to the House of Commons.
The council’s support for SL’s aspirations was reflected in their own motion that they passed in their local assembly.

According to a circular received from SL’s representative in the UK reported by our sister paper Dawan, Hon. Ali Aden Awale made the presentation on behalf of Somaliland’s Head of State.
The representative said that while in the company of councilor MW Boss he went to Cardiff Town Hall and met with the Mayor and the councilors of the assembly.

“On behalf of the President and the people of Somaliland I thanked the mayor and his council for their supportive gesture and action”, he said.

He added that they discussed at length on the ways and means of stepping up the efforts on the lobbying.
“I thank the Cardiff Committee on recognition lobbying for their efforts and who worked greatly” he said.
