Erigavo residents are staging protests over the assassination of Berbera police chief who was killed in an ambush by unknown assailants yesterday.
Protesters have marched city’s main streets burning old tyres and brought the city’s traffic to stand still.
No casualties are reported as far as the demonstrations are concerned which is still underway in Erigavo.
Angry protesters have ransacked the resident of Sanaag’s police chief although it is reported that he escaped unhurt.
Police are doing all they can to disperse the crowd of angry protests.
Number of traditional leaders that hail from Berbera apprehended and are hoped to hand over the assailants that carried out the killing of police chief.
