The voter registration exercise has been officially launched in Borama,Awdal’s provincial capital on Saturday.
Residents are expected to enlist as a voter, ahead of the April, 2017 General Election in Somaliland.
The voter registration drive will run for 28 days and is expected to take place all districts within Awdal region.
The Independent Electoral and Commission has designated 138 registration centres for residents to get enlisted.
National Electoral Commission (NEC) has hired and trained over 1500 people to get the job well done.
NEC Chairman, Abdikadir Iman Warsame speaking has told that all necessary equipment sent to register voters in Borama.
The government will facilitate the electoral commission by providing adequate security and availing the required financial, human and physical resources needed to ensure success of the exercise.
NEC chairman has thanked all those that have assisted the exercise to get launched.
