Somaliland Armed Forces court has today(Friday) while convening in the port city of Berbera sentenced to death by firing squad Mr. Abdirzaq Mohamed kheryre , a police officer attached to the special protection unit for the killing of the late inspector Aden Guled Dahir on Thursday.
The Chairman of the armed forces Col. Yusuf Farah Sharmke speaking to reporters confirmed the sentencing of the police officer was carried out in accordance with Article 170 of Military penal code and at the same stating the condemned officer can file appeal against the sentencing.
The relatives of the deceased police officer demonstrated outside the police station where the accused police officer was being held and several other venues in the port of Berbera demanding for his blood.
Mr. Fahmi Abdi Bidaar , the Governor of Sahil region speaking to reporters said, “We have arrested a couple of dozen demonstrators.
The deceased officer was buried on Friday night in the port city of Berbera.
