Minister of Water Resources Hon Bashe Ali Jama has appealed to the people of Sool and East Sanaag regions to participate in the voter’s cards registration process because it’s only through voting that they can get full presentation in the government and their fair share of the national cake.
Hon Bashe Ali Jama speaking during a function held at the Ambassador Hotel on Thursday said, “This time round things are different from the previous times because this is the first time in the history of this coun try that the people of Sool and East Sanaag shall be able to participate in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections. So the people living in those regions are obliged to register as voters for them to vote.
“Our duty is to promote awareness so as to inform the people of Sool and East Sanaag regions on the essential knowledge of how to cast a vote, but also about a participatory process where voters have adequate information about parties, policies, candidates and the election process itself in order to make informed choices”.
The Minster of Water resources concluded by stating, “It’s time for the people of Sool and Sanaag regions to get their fair share of the national pie which has been in the past elusive.
