The Somaliland Minister of Finance Hon Zam Zam Abdi Aden has today officially presided over the handing over ceremony of the outgoing director general and newly appointed director general in the Ministry of Finance during a well-attended function held at the Imperial Hotel.
Mr. Mohamed Mahile Boqore, the Chairman of Somaliland Civil Service Commission speaking during the handing over ceremony said, “I would like to laud the performance of outgoing director general in the Ministry of Finance, I urge you to continue the excellent service to the nation.
The Minister of Finance speaking during the handing over ceremony said, “I happy to be presiding over this ceremony especially involving two people of whom I had the privilege to serve them in various portfolios , one in the Ministry of Finance and the other previously in the Ministry of Education both being competent and hardworking senior civil servants.
Hon Zam Zam Abdi Aden further wished good luck to the outgoing director general in his new portfolio in the Ministry of Health and Labor.
Mr. Suleiman Jama Diriye, the outgoing director general in the Ministry of Finance speaking during the occasion said , “I feel proud to be handing over my previous post in the Ministry of Finance to my comrade and longtime friend Mr. Mohamed Hassan Ibrahim of whom I had the opportunity to work with in various capacities since I joined the civil service.
“I have faith in the incoming Ministry of Finance director general and I am also confidant that he shall excute his new duties with utmost commitment and zeal”, stated Mr. Suleiman Jama Diriye.
On the hand, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Ibrahim, the incoming director general said, “I would like first and foremost to thank His Excellency President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud “Silanyo” for giving me the second chance to be director general in the Ministry of Finance and I pray to Allah to help me in the new Job.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of Somaliland Civil Service Commission, top officials in the Ministry of Finance, members of the various political organizations and the general public.
