President Ahmed M. M. Silanyo has today received Kuwait Fund delegation headed by Sa’ad al Obaidi who is in charge of more than 40 countries,who called on him at SL’s presidential residence.
President Silanyo said government was pleased to welcome the delegation to Hargeisa saying the visit was going to strengthen the strong ties that exist between the two countries.
The President noted that Kuwait has been supporting the country’s development efforts over the years through the Kuwait Fund and other bilateral assistance.
He maintained that Kuwait had also provided opportunities to many orphans in SL by building schools where they will be educated.
Kuwait Fund for Development delegation to SL is on a fact finding mission on the drought stricken regions in SL for the past months.
Mr. Sa’ad who spoke to the press after the talks with President Silanyo has said that the discussions focused on bolstering the humanitarian development in SL.
He noted that Kuwait Fund has established an Orphanage school for boys in Hargeisa while the construction for the girls school is underway.
He thanked the warm welcome and hospitality accorded during their visit to SL.
Ministers of presidency, religion, Planning and Director of humanitarain affairs at the presidential residence were in attendance during the talks.
