Presidential affairs minister Hon. Hirsi Ali Hasan returned to the country on Saturday after completing a brief working visit to Addis Ababa, Ethiopian capital.
The presidential affairs minister has spoken that SL delegation met with Ethiopian ministers of Finance and Public Works and Roads. The focus of the talks they held was about the jump start of Berbera Corridor which links SL to Ethiopia.
Ethiopia, a land locked country in the Horn now eyes Berbera Port for its import.
The Minister has said that Ethiopia has shown its keen interest in the use of SL port which is vital for the economic growth of both nations.
On the other hand, SL delegation headed by Deputy President A. A. Ismael attended the third batch graduation ceremony held at AU premises in Addis Ababa for SL students that graduated from New Generation College which has bases in SL and Ethiopia.
Students studied political science, Commerce, Computer Science and Medicine.
Presidency Minister has praised the role that New Generation plays when it comes to SL’s higher education.
SL’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Mohamed Bihi has stated at the ceremony that the graduation of SL students marks the deep ties that the two countries share.
