eDahab adds Somaliland Shilling to its Mobile Wallet features

True to the management’s word,  Dahabshiil Group’s eDahab mobile money transfer  wing  added and put to the test additional features permitting the subscriber to use the Somaliland Shilling same as the established USD  from the  mobile wallet.

eDahab put the features on the test on Thursday, 28 May, first releasing the services to five merchant subscribers.

Following the successful, hitch-free implementation of the test, the service was, today, extended to fifteen more merchant subscribers in Hargeisa.

Around twenty popular spots, comprising of snack bars, cafeterias, shops and kiosks, were now accepting the mobile-based Somaliland Shilling points/digits to sell respective services

A full, media attended launch is expected within the coming two days.

The move close on the tail end of a series of intensive consultations between the Central Bank of Somaliland, remittance companies, educational institutions and major business companies in Somaliland centering on the resuscitation of a Somaliland Shilling  which of, recent, appeared  to have succumbed to a stronger US Dollar.

The situation resulted in skyrocketing commodity prices and a perceptible deterioration of living standards across the whole country
