Somaliland: Police arrest teens accused of marking the New Year

Somaliland Police arrested at least ten girls who were adolescents on Wednesday at 8 pm and they were apprehended after they were caught while dressed with clothes that revealed their bodies and were about to mark the 2015 New Year.

They wore trousers and shirts that were tight to their bodies.

The ten girls were arrested while in the downtown and were taken to the central police station.

The girls are thought to be 15 years old and they were accused of committing immoral things that are against the customs and norms of Muslim country.

Many people around the world hold celebrations in order to welcome the New Year.

Somaliland is nation that is predominantly Muslim and does not welcome her citizens to been seen marking the News Year. The arrest of the teens has been confirmed to the press by the Police Commissioner.
