President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has officially opened a High Level meeting on Security in Mogadishu on Monday.
The meeting is attended by several leaders including regional heads, UN,EU, and AU representatives.
The leaders will focus on security, fight against Alshabaab and implementation of the National Security Architecture (NSA) plan.
Meanwhile the security of Mogadishu was tightened as hundreds of security forces were deployed at major roads in the city to avert terror attacks during the ongoing conference.
Thousands of the city residents were forced to walk long distances as Passenger vehicle Services (PSVs) and private vehicles banned to use public roads.
The lock down has had its worst effect on students and business people who live miles away from their schools and work places respectively.
The blocked roads include Makka-Al-Murama, Sayidka, KM4 junction and several others.
