Kenyan cargo plane crashes in Somalia

a Fokker F-27 cargo plane, operated by the Kenyan Aero-Pioneer Group, sustained substantial damage whilst landing at Garbaharey airport (GBM) in Somalia.

The aircraft was carrying nutrients and other humanitarian supplies on behalf of the United Nations World Food Programme.

Further to the Aviation Safety Network, the starboard wing of the aircraft, which made its first flight 50 years ago, broke off on the far side of the no. 2 engine. The four crew members are believed to have survived the accident.
