Somaliland: National Drought Relief Committee raises over $3 million so far for drought victims

 Somaliland’s National Drought Relief has raised over $3,100,000 USD so far in an ongoing campaign to help restart the lives of the country’s many drought victims.

The uplifting news was announced by the committee on Wednesday night during an event commemorating Somaliland’s independence day at the Presidential Palace.

Somalilanders in the diaspora are holding independence day events around the world this weekend in an effort to meet the $660,000 target set out by Somaliland’s Diaspora Agency.

The national fundraising campaign started on May 18th and will run until June 26th.
