Waddani, also known as Somaliland National Party, has been accused of secretly having pro-unity views and for having ties to politicians in Somalia.
Waddani leader Abdirahman Irro has staunchly denied this accusation on several occasions.
Many Somalilanders, however, are skeptical of Irro’s rejection of being pro-Somalia.
Below, we have attached two images showing the striking similarity between Waddani’s campaign slogan and President Farmaajo’s campaign slogan.
Four months ago, Irro posted a photo on his Facebook page with the slogan “Nabad & Nololsan” – which roughly translates to “Peace and a Good Life”.
Somalia’s newly-elected President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, also campaigned on a slogan with the same meaning.
Is it just a coincidence? Or is there a secret relationship between Waddani and President Farmaajo?
