The outgoing envoy to Ethiopia, Amb Adan Muse Jibril is satisfied with recent administration reshuffles by the president of Somaliland Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo that saw drastic and unexpected changes.
In most likely his last major reshuffle, the unexpected but highly approved changes made in his administration, saw the head of state , appoint easterners to the office of interior minister as well as to senior forces command posts, dispatch outgoing interior top honcho Waran’ade to the diplomatic corps cum political oblivion while refusing the services of Horhor at Ber era port and Gen Shakalle at the Army.
With Waran’ade moving to Addis Ababa as diplomatic Envoy, his predecessor Ambassador Adan Muse is anxiously awaiting his move to the African Union as Somaliland representative.
According to Amb Jibril who moves from the Somaliland consulate but still remains in Addis Ababa, is not only satisfied with his new posting but rearing to go as well.
In a telephone with Hargiesa based Geeska Afrika, the diplomat said his passion for country and its service does not confine him to any particular posting adding that more so his public service is based on believe in policies
“For me it is not about the job or title but as retains to the policies of the administration that I serve” said Amb adding that the policies put in place by the ruling Somaliland Kulmiye party completely concur with his tenets thus a fervent supporter of not only the party but it’s presidential candidate Muse Behi Abdi.
While committing to a perfect service at the African Union in Addis Ababa where he has many contacts courtesy of his post as Somaliland envoy to Ethiopia, Amb Jibril said that his activities within the Continental body shall be closely aligned to the foreign policies of the administration that has endeavor red to effect changes both internally and externally too.
The envoy remains hopeful that his offices in Addis Abaab shall help put the issue of Somaliland recognition not only at the AU but at the regional one of IGAD as well where an observer seat is much in pursuit as a preclude to official recognition.
A week earlier the ambassador had elicited from the Ethiopian Federal government that the two countries relations at various levels would not only be sustained but enhanced especially as pertains to partnership in counter terrorism and Berbera port.
This follows a meeting between Ethiopian State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Taye Atske-selassie and Mr. Adan Muse Jibril, a representative of the Somaliland administration in Addis Ababa on the 8th of this month with the Ethiopian minister commenting Hargeisa based authorities.
In concluding Discussions that focused on enhancing the partnership in the fight against al-shabaab and strengthening cooperation concerning Berbera Port the meeting concurred on the imperatives , to forge and foster concrete steps toward infrastructural development and utilization of the Berbera Port.
