Education Minister urged Somaliland citizens to participate the ongoing tasks of improving the nation’s education through the refurbishment of Somaliland curriculum.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the inauguration of a new teacher training college was held in Hargeisa yesterday afternoon. The ceremony attended by Somaliland’s Education Minister Hon. Abdillaahi Ibrahim Habbane, Minister of Finance Zamzam Abdi Adam, deputy Minister for Education and Higher Studies, Hon Yusuf Osman Garas, the mayor of Hargeisa Abdirahman Mohamoud Aideed and many other officials.
In his remarks the deputy Minister for Education Hon Yusuf Osman Garas stated that Zamzam had worked hard to get the appropriate funding for this wonderful building. “We, as the Education Ministry, grateful to Zamzam Abdi Adam for her strive and dedication in commencing this project. She spared no time to prepare an institute for teachers,”said Yusuf Garas – deputy minister of Education and Higher Studies.
On the other hand, the mayor of Hargeisa city Abdirahman Mohamoud Aideed better known as Soltelco has emphasised the indispensability to access land for education and health. Mr Soltelco stated that during his tenure he worked hard to provide unoccupied places for health, education and playgrounds for youth.
Samsam Abdi Adan – Somaliland’s finance Minister, also pointed out the priority of this college for Somalilanders. “Literally, this is an amazing college for us. Long time ago, teachers used to go Lafoole, it is my pleasure to see the same school with better quality here in our country,” said Zamzam Abdi, the Finance Minister of Somaliland.
Likewise, the Education Minister of Somaliland Hon. Abdillahi Ibrahim Habbane reiterated the need to access a quality institute that develops the education of teachers. The minister said that this is the only way Somaliland can get educationally constructed people. The Minister of Education Hon.
