Berbera Port Manager, Ali Mohamed Omar aka “Ali Xoor-xoor” in a press release issued from his office stated clearly that the policies of running the port is inconsistent with the policies in the office of the presidency.
Mr. Ali has denied the existence of news reports disseminated in local papers and said that the stories are based on rumors and speculations.
Mr. Ali has strongly refuted that there is no conflict between his office and that of the presidential palace.
“I am part and parcel of the policies of President Silanyo’s administration, said Ali.”
Port Manager has said that the local paper “Geeska Afrika” should stop publishing stories that may put the country’s national security into jeopardy.
Somaliland authority recently entered into an agreement with Dubai Ports World in a bid to expand the port as one of the biggest and busiest ports in the Horn serving landlocked countries in the region.
