Ministers from Somalia and Somaliland meet in Turkey, Turkish MP confirms

Haberturk, a Turkish newspaper has published a news story on 27th April about the Somaliland-Somalia dialogue.

The paper has stated in the article that ministers from Somaliland and that of Somalia met in Turkey.

The article dubbed as Somalia talks in an  interview with Mr. Kanti Turan,  a member of Turkish parliament elected from Bursa and was the former Turkish ambassador to Somalia has told the paper that the ministers have reached an informal agreement.

The MP went on to say that the agreement will be ratified on 31st of May. The foreign minister, Sa’ad Ali Shire flanked by the presidency minister, Mohamoud Hashi represented Somaliland while the minister of interior, Abdirahman Odowaa and merchant represented Somalia.

Mr. Kanti Turan has said that the ministers will return to Turkey in May where they will sign the agreement officially.

Mr. Kanti Turan played a crucial role in the agreement reached by Somalia’s Federal Government with Puntland over the 4.5 quota system of choosing the next Somalia parliament in 2016 elections.
