The presidential hopeful of Governing Kulmiye, Unity and Development national party, Musa Bihi Abdi has held talks on Saturday with delegation from Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA), headed by the Executive Director of EISA, Denis Kadima and was flanked by other experts.
In a statement issued stated that the African Union (AU) delegated EISA to go to Somaliland on a fact finding mission when it comes to the voter registration exercise and the preparation that Somaliland is making for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary polls in 2017.
Their task was mainly on observatory to see the gearing up of the polls by 2017 in Somaliland and to see the challenges that they may encounter.
Kulmiye presidential aspirant and the EISA delegation discussed on the voter registration exercise which is smoothly taking place in Somaliland. The voter registration exercise was concluded in Togder and Awdal provinces and is due to kick off in other regions in the country.
The delegation from Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa has been informed that smooth happening of voter registration and that the country is making the necessary preparation to hold its free, fair and democratic presidential and parliamentary polls in 2017.
Members of Kulmiye party has appealed to Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa to throw their support and that of the international community to the job that National Election Commission is doing in the country.The ruling party reiterated that it did all they could when it comes to holding democratic elections in Somaliland by 2017.
