According to reliable sources close to the former cabinet ministers who defected from Somaliland’s ruling Kulmiye party confirm that a disagreement broke out between the allied members.
It is now reported by local media outlets that the bone of contention is questions relating to which political party should the allied former cabinet ministers join in the future.
Former minister of finance, Abdiasis Mohamed Samale has called on to continue to be part of the ruling Kulmiye party but he suggested to open direct talks with the party senior members in order to resolve issued that have caused the disagreement.
He reiterated that he injected mind, muscle and energy into the governing Kulmiye party and objected to abandon it easily.
Details are sketchy but reports further confirm that the ex-presidential affairs minister, Hirsi Ali Hasan has called on to defect from the governing Kulmiye party and join the main opposition Wadani party.
Mr. Hersi has added that he wants to not let the Kulmiye governing party to win landslide victory when it comes to the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections slated to take place in Somaliland in 2017.
Other members of the allied former cabinet ministers have suggested that they should not join any political national party and anticipate to see a political atmosphere that will allow them to participate.
If the news is true then the current row that erupted in the allied group of ex-cabinet members will weaken the political power they have achieved over the years.
