His Excellency the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud “Siilaanyo” visited statesman and veteran politician Mohamed Abdi Iskeerse a visit in his hospital bed.
Mohamed Abdi Iskeerse, one of the longest running founder-members of the ruling party Kulmiye, was checked in into intensive care at the Hargeisa Group Hospital suffering cardiac complications. Mr. Iskeerse has for the past five years been living with a pacemaker but had, in recent days, been suffering more and more of reduced oxygen inhale. He had been carrying a small oxygen tank with him whenever he ventured out of his more-equipped house bed.
The President sat with the patient for some time and prayed for him to get well.
His Excellency the President went a round of some of the other wards to give solace to in-patients who showed their delight in his appearance in a number of ways and manners, knowing that something good will definitely come out of this personal visit of the President.
With the President on this visit were the First Lady, Amina-Weris, the Somaliland Ministers forthe Presidency, Finance, Interior and Information, as well as the Police Commissioner, Brig. Fadal.
The President donated livestock to help feed the inpatients of the Group Hospital, TB Hospital and psychiatric wards.
