President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo’s has today (Thursday) issued Presidential decree #JSL / M / XERM / 249-3641 / 102015 in which he appoints new cabinet ministers, state ministers and assistant ministers, directors general and presidential advisers.
President has in accordance with Article 90, paragraph 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland;
The importance of role of ministries to the country and nation-building;
Saw a need to fill the positions of Ministers, Minister of state, and the Ministers, the Republic of Somaliland;
Having considered: Ability, knowledge and integrity to work;
Convinced that: they could handle roles named;
Has decided to appoint the following to the cabinet;
Cabinet
- Abdullahi Farah Maydane, to be the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture of the Republic of Somaliland.
- Ibrahim Abdullah Habane (Abdullah Dheere), Minister of Education and Higher Education.
- Mohamed Dirie, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Somaliland.
- Abdi Yusuf, Minister of State for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland. (Change)
- Rashid Ismail Abdullah, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Somaliland. (Change)
- Abdirashid Hussein Abdulla (Carab), Minister of State for the eastern regions of the Republic of Somaliland. (Change)

Appointment of Directors General
President: –
In accordance with Article 90, paragraph (e) of the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland;
After having considered the need to fill the post of Director General of the Ministry of Interior and Industry of the Republic of Somaliland;
Having considered: Ability, knowledge and integrity to work;
Convinced that: they could handle the above roles;
Has decided to appoint the following as
- Saeed Ahmed Guled, as the Director General of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Somaliland. (Change)
- Farhan Aden Haybe, as the Director General of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Somaliland.
The appointment of Presidential advisors
President Silanyo has in accordance with Article 90, paragraph 3 of the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland;
The role of Presidential Advisor on International and local non-governmental agencies and Advisor Eastern Regions.
The need to fill the vacant positions;
Having considered: Ability, knowledge and Integrity to work;
Convinced that: they could handle roles named;
Has decided to appoint the following
- Abdullah Omar Maal, to be the Presidential Advisor on international and local. (Change)
