The secretary general of the ruling party “KULMIYE” Mr. Hassan Said Yusuf has dismissed reports carried by a section of the media purporting members of the ruling party central committee drawn from the Arab community had decided to support Mr. Ahmed Abdi Kijande candidacy.
In a press statement released by the secretary general of the ruling party “KULMIYE” Mr. Hassan Said Yusuf office on Friday evening stated as follows:-
I, Mr. Hassan Said Yusuf would hereby like to dismiss reports carried by “HADHWANAAG.COM” a local Somali news website which claimed members of the ruling party central committee drawn from the Arab community had overwhelmingly decided to support Mr. Ahmed Abdi Kijande candidacy during a get together meeting held on last Thursday, in Hadhwanaag hotel, Hargeisa.
Therefore, I would like to use this opportunity to clarify on matter regarding the meeting by leaders from the Arab community led by traditional leaders held last Thursday whose aim was to deliberate and discuss issues relating to the Ruling party KULMIYE, however I, would like to state the present members didn’t during meeting overwhelmingly decided to support Mr. Ahmed Abdi Kijande candidacy neither any other candidate but they shall in the near future come up with a solution regarding the issue.
I, would also urge members of the media fraternity not to report false report meant to create animosity harm the coexistence of the various communities.
