H.E President of Somaliland Republic Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo donated $300,000 Dollars towards the construction of Dawga Cad tarmac road which links the capital city of Hargeisa and the city of Djibouti, in neighboring Djibouti.
President Silanyo before embarking on a working tour which will see him visit the UAE and the republic of Ireland last week handed the monies to the Dawga Cad road construction committee for the completion of the tarmac road.
Eng. Abdiakdir Hashi Elmi, the chairman of Dawga Cad road construction committee speaking to the press on Friday said, “The Dawga Cad road construction committee last week received $300,000 monies donated by H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo just before he flew out of the country last week and other cash donation from private citizens both inside the country and abroad.
Eng. Abdiakdir Hashi Elmi and other members of the Dawga Cad road construction committee during the press conference said , “ We would like to thank all those people who contributed funds towards the construction of this road for their generosity, as you’re well aware of this road once completed will connect people living in the country and strengthening cooperation between the two countries and the regional matters including security, trade and other bilateral issues which is aimed at spur economic growth in the areas traversed by the road project hence reducing the poverty levels of the roadside communities.
