The largest meeting aimed at discussing the security of Ethiopia and Somaliland opens in Diri Dawa today.
The mission is that both countries which share large border areas are talking ways and means to enhance cooperation between the two neighboring countries on the areas of trade, immigration security and border crossings.
Law enforcement agencies from both countries are in attendance at the talks.
Somaliland delegation is headed by the Minister of Interior Hon. Ali Mohamed Waran Adde and flanked by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and regional governors of Marodi Jeh, Awdal, Gebiley, Togder and Sool.
Ethiopian delegation attending at the talks between Somaliland and Ethiopia include Minister of Foreign Affairs at Federal level, Minister of interior, Somali regional president in Ethiopia and heads of law enforcement agencies.
The two sides are aiming to cooperate ridding of all threats to the national security since the two countries share large border areas.
The expectation is that the outcome will be important to both countries that will enhance its capabilities to ensure the security, peace and stability in the region.
