Somaliland: president His Excellency, Ahmed M. M. Silanyo today met with the new UN deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General to Somaliland/Somalia Mr. Raisedon Zenenga who is on working visit to Somaliland.
SL foreign affairs minister Hon. Mohamed Bihi Yonis has breifed the media that the two sides discussed on ways to broaden the scope of cooperation between SL and the UN.
Mr. Bihi went on to say that they talked about on economy, development and elections.
Mr. Raisedon Zenenga who spoke said that he served in Somalia as UN staffer during the 1993 when there was a war in that country. He added that having now returned to Somaliland that he saw much progress made on education, peace, and health.
He promised that the UN pledges to stand by SL and is committed to work together with them.
