The Foundation’s team visited affected areas to assess needs
The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has concluded its humanitarian aid campaign in the city of Hargeisa in Somalia, after distributing thousands of food packages to families affected by the drought in many of the coastal and mountainous areas in the country.
A spokesperson from the organisation said that the humanitarian campaign was organised in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The spokesperson said that a team from the foundation visited affected areas to assess the severe damage caused to land, farms, crops and the cattle of many Somali families, and in collaboration with the concerned authorities in Hargeisa, went on to provide thousands of food baskets as part of efforts to alleviate their hardship.
