Somaliland: MOFA refutes UAE’s acceptance of Somaliland Passports

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somaliland has issued a press release in which it has denied media circulated news reports which stated that the United Arab Emirates has accepted SL passports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in the press statement that plans are underway which intends to convince the UAE to accept SL passports can be used to travel to her country.

The press release has refuted media reports which stated that the UAE has accepted SL travel documents.

It refutes news that has been published in local newspapers and some online newspapers in the statement posted in its facebook account.

The plan to persuade UAE to allow SL citizens to travel to her country with SL travel documents are underway.

The MOFA has said that discussions are going on but it is not yet reached a final agreement.

MOFA has hailed the step taken by Ahmed Silanyo of Somaliland in which he appointed a new representative to UAE.

Somaliland and UAE are now having strong bilateral ties.
