Somaliland: Bihi Yunis Meets with Deputy Italian Foreign Affairs Minister in Rome

Somaliland Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon Mohamed Bihi Yunis met with the Italian Deputy foreign Minister Mr. Lapo Pistelli at the Italian foreign Ministry headquarters in Rome.

Somaliland Minster of foreign Affairs and his Italian counterpart discussed issues of mutual concern including:-

  1. How the two countries would enhance the existing political and bilateral relations in the future and strengthen the bridge between the two countries.
  1. The issue of Somaliland recognition and that the European Union including Italy should recognize Somaliland as an independent and Sovereign state.
  1. Ways in which the Italian government would join and contribute to the Somaliland Development Fund.

During the meeting the two officials had opportunity to renew and enhance future bilateral cooperation in the fields of development.

Somaliland Foreign Minister later flew to London, UK where he is expected to meet with Uk Government officials.
