HARGEISA- National Elections Commission (NEC) recently submitted a letter to the Head of State H.E Ahmed M. Silanyo informing him that holding polls in the country within the remaining months from election date is not possible.
The government as well as the Electoral Commission has not so far broken the decision of not holding free and fair elections in the country to the media if it exits as far as the elections are concerned.
The government has forwarded the letter from NEC to the Upper House of Parliament ( Guurti) which reserves the overall power to make decisions if election is to be held or not.
The opposition political parties expressed their concern over the intension of the current government to extend the term in office.
