the House of Representatives approved the so-called Forest Conservation and Protection of Wildlife law after the house did not open due to lack of quorum. Deputy speaker of Somaliland house of national assembly Hon. Bashe Mohamed Farah has presided the session and once the law was voted that 42 MP’s have agreed to pass the law. Environment and Rural Development Minister Ms. Shukri Ismail Bondare has told that having the president issued a presidential decree informing the public to conserve forests and wildlife and the approval of the house strengthens the law to take into effect. The Minister has welcomed the move and said that this is a step taken in the right direction. The Director General of Environment Ministry has thanked all those who supported the law to take into effect.
