During the 90th session of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland held on the 31/03/2022, chaired by the President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, and accompanied by the Vice President of Somaliland, HE. Abdurrahman Abdallahi Ismail (Saylici) addressed a number of issues today.
First, the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland and also the Chairman of the National Drought Relief Committee, Hon. Abdurrahman Abdallahi Ismail (Saylici) briefed the weekly council of cabinet ministers on the drought situation in the country, the activities of the drought relief committee, the assistance availed to the drought-affected community so far, and donations received by the committee. The vice president also spoke about the recent rains in parts of the country, noting that some areas have received light rains.
The council also heard a report from the Minister of Interior, Hon. Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, on the security situation in the country and noted the need for a concerted effort.
Somaliland’s Minister of Religion and Endowments Sheikh Abdirizak Hussein Ali (Albani) presented a detailed documentary on what Islamic law states regarding abandoned minors whose parentage is unknown and how they should be treated.
Lastly, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, briefed the Council on his recent visit to the United States and noted that the visit was a success, and at the same time stated that the United States stands ready to work with Somaliland, in cooperating in many areas.
