Somaliland: Ministry of Agriculture and FAO jointly Launch Program to support 16000 farmers

The government of the Republic of Somaliland, yesterday launched a program in Hargeisa to support more than 16,000 farmers in Somaliland.

The event held at the Mansoor Hotel in Hargeisa, was attended by the Minister of Agricultural Development Hon Ahmed Mumin Seed, Director General of the Ministry Roble Abdi Muse, Minister of Justice, representatives of FAO Somaliland.

During the event the Ministry of Agriculture detailed the assistance it plans to provide to farmers in the country.

Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture Roble Abdi Muse said the plan is part of the ministry’s efforts to improve the national agriculture output and farmers livelihoods, by extended assistance to 16,000 farmers in form of seeds and cultivations’ hours.

The Minister of Agriculture speaking during the ceremony stated that the assistance coincides with the start of the rainy season (End of March), therefore farmers should take advantage of the rains.
