THT-Somaliland and Kenya are pursuing avenues for enhanced partnership in Security and development.
This was discussed in Nairobi during a meeting between Kenya’s former PM and leader of opposition Raila Odinga where they also jointly concurred on the imperatives of the international recognition of Somaliland.
Somaliland withdrew from its 1960 voluntary later turned fateful union with Somalia three decades ago but remains Unrecognized as a sovereign nation internationally.
The meeting between president Bihi and Raila Odinga took place in the sidelines of an ongoing three days official visit to Kenya by a Somaliland delegation upon invite by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Odinga has on several occasions supported the Somaliland bid for independence.
