Daadab MP’s seat loser Abdikheir Dubow claimed at the Milimani law courts yesterday MP Mohammed Dahir used his relatives as poll officials to influence his win.
Dubow vied for the seat on the Jubilee ticket in the August 8 General Election.
“Most of the IEBC officials are related to Dahir. They switched off the lights with his agents during the counting of votes,” he added.
He also claimed some polling stations lacked IEBC clerks and voting was slow.
Dubow was testifying in a petition where he alleges the IEBC held elections marred by massive irregularities. He said the poll was not fair and credible.
He told Justice Rose Ougo the IEBC and the returning officer failed to uphold the law by declaring results on Forms 35A and 35B, which had not been signed by agents.
