Somalia Voting under way but is it really an election?

The Horn of Africa country has already started picking new MPs, senators and, soon, a president.

But ordinary Somalis do not get a vote.
Instead, about 14,000 people representing federal states choose the MPs. Accusations of corruption and nepotism are rife, and many people complain that the process is unfair.
In 2012, when the country came out of a period of transitional government, the administration and its foreign backers promised that this election would be one-man, one-vote.
Why did that not happen and what do people think about it?
