Dahabshil Bank international today donated $4,000 Dollars towards the Somaliland Braille Centre (SBC) to illuminate their lives in a quest for a brighter future.
Mr. Mohamed Saed Awale , the Manager of Dahabshil Bank international speaking during the brief handing over ceremony said , “We at the Dahabshil Bank International recognize the importance of supporting our local communities as part of corporate responsibilities.”
Expressing his gratitude towards DBI and the DBI staff for their generous donation, the principal Somaliland Braille centre (SBC) said “We rely on generous donations like these to keep the school going and we are very grateful to DBI for this initiative “.
The Principal addedSomaliland Braille Centre (SBC) the school provides free lifeline education that would otherwise not be possible to children with special needs. They are picked from home and dropped back by the school bus every morning, on a daily basis.
The purpose of the Somaliland Braille Centre (SBC) is to enhance the level of acquisition of education and visually impaired for the visually impaired in Somaliland through the provision of structured education and advocacy skills on rights for persons with visual impairment.
SBC equally aims for the promotion of an inclusive education. The project has so far directly benefited 68 blind and visually impaired students and indirectly it has benefited another 485 of their dependents and family members.
