Ugandan army military spokesman Paddy Ankunda said UPDF soldiers serving as part of African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) will continue their operation in the war-recovering horn of Africa nation.
“UPDF soldiers will remian in Somalia operation to help Somali federal government in the war on the Al Qaeda-linked militants of Al shabaab and restoring peace and stability in Somalia,” said Ankunda.
Ugandan troops make up the bulk of the African Union force (AMISOM) helping Somalia’s UN-backed federal government led by president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
