The European Union is investing a six million dollars grant to upgrade roads in the country’s ongoing programs and the efforts are right on course.
The minister of Public Works and Transport in whose docket the roads fall Hon. Ali Hassan Mohammed said that the projects would go down a long way in not only generating but at the same time speeding up development in the country.
The minister said that the projects which were on going have been realized, and continuous to being achieved in the EU-SL joint venture whose signings have been a multiple process in stages.
The projects were being implemented by the state in conjunction with the JIZ, the German organization.
It covers many roads in the country, mainly the Berbera-Hargeisa-Togwajaale highway simply known as the Berbera corridor.
He said that the roads were being upgraded and/ or constructed to apt standards.
The VIP who graced present the function was amongst the VIPs who spoke.
The function was one that brought stake-holders up-to date with the ongoing roads projects, most notably the EU-GIZ representatives.
