Kenya: Duale Dares EACC To Prosecute Corrupt Officials

Date:

The leader of majority in the National Assembly, Aden Duale, has told the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to walk the talk and prosecute those found culpable of corruption.

Speaking in Garissa Town at Madarastul Khadija Islamic School, Duale said that both the EACC and the office of the DPP have no alternative but to prosecute those linked to various corruption allegations.

He said the Jubilee Administration was firm in the war against corruption, noting that nobody would be spared in the fight, irrespective of their position in society or their coalition.

Duale said it was unfortunate to see some politicians politicising the fight against corruption, and challenged Kenyans to support the government to end the vice, which he said has badly affected the economy.

Duale said the National Assembly will remain steadfast in the fight against corruption.

Cabinet Secretaries who were named in the graft report include Charity Ngilu (Lands), Michael Kamau (Transport), Davis Chirchir (Energy), Felix Koskei (Agriculture) and Kazungu Kambi (Labour) among other government officials.
