Somalia and Qatar have signed new agreements to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the two countries on Wednesday.
Somalia Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali and his Qatari counterpart Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani met in Doha and held talks on areas of mutual cooperation.
In a Press statement from the Somalia Premier’s office, it was confirmed that both sides finally signed an agreement to cooperate on areas of Education and Civil aviation.
“Agreements with the Government of Qatar Civil Aviation Education and are a priority for our people and our country as we recover the collapse happened. We will continue to add more such agreements, which in turn will help to re-building in Somalia and the government encourages Qatar bid to fund Somalia to boost the economy and job creation in the country,’’ Mr Sharmarke said after the signing of the agreement.
As part of the agreement, Qatari airways will start flights to the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
Somalia Prime Minister along with Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Planning & International Cooperation, Transport and Civil aviation are on a work visit to the tiny gulf nation.
