A high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates arrived in Somaliland this morning to take part in DP World Berbera’s inauguration ceremony, and to explore potential investment opportunities in the port town and other parts of the country.
The delegation, headed by DP World Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan bin Ahmed Sulayem, arrived this morning with Somaliland’s representative to the UAE, Bashe Awil Haji Omar.
The delegation is said to be looking at investing in Berbera’s cement factory and considering other ventures in the port town.
Saeed Al Ghurair, a member of the high-level delegation, is the CEO of Al Ghurair Group of Companies. Al Ghurair Group built the UAE’s first cement factory, flour mill, and sugar refinery.
